MILWAUKEE WAVE OF KINDNESS, INC. / now MILWAUKEE URBAN SOCCER COLLABORATIVE
June 2005 – present

Set up organizational structure, developed program goals, created an operational plan, and hired staff for this Milwaukee youth soccer outreach agency. Continue in a limited role to manage fundraising efforts.



MILWAUKEE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

July 2009 - present


Provide grant writing services on an occasional basis. Managed the grant writing process for a major proposal to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation; $25,000 was received from the GMF.



MILWAUKEE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

November 2010 – April 2011

Wrote several major grant proposals for foundations, corporations, and government institutions, including the comprehensive on-year Wisconsin Arts Board and National Endowment for the Arts proposals. Results are pending.



NEXT ACT THEATRE
March – September 2010

Created a case statement, prospect list, gift table and campaign plan for a $950,000 campaign to build a new theatre. Solicited the lead gift, $100,000. Continued to provide advice as the campaign proceeded; goal was met before the December 31, 2010 deadline.

July 2005 – December 2009


Provided fundraising plan development in the strategic planning process for various non-profit clients, such as the Pewaukee Yacht Club, Cathedral Center Homeless Shelter, and Milwaukee Artists' Resource Network.


ASSOCIATION OF FUNDRAISING PROFESSIONALS – Greater Milwaukee Chapter
April 2008 – March 2009.


Through research and discussion, created a set of recommendations for improving AFP's service to both emerging and experienced members.


CULTURAL ALLIANCE OF GREATER MILWAUKEE

June 2007 – December 2007; October 2005 – April 2006.

Recently, worked with the Board to develop and implement short and long term fundraising plans in a time of executive transition. Earlier, developed and managed a $235,000 fundraising plan to support the host portion of expenses for the Americans for the Arts national convention in June 2006. Goal was achieved by April 30, 2006.


FBI NATIONAL ACADEMY ASSOCIATES

January 2007 – December 2007

Developed and implemented a $225,000 fundraising campaign to support the costs of hosting the FBINAA National Conference in Milwaukee July 2008.



FRANKLIN CULTURAL ARTS CENTER
June 2007 – September 2007

Advised the Board about positioning a building campaign and conducted a modified philanthropic market survey about this proposed $20 million community arts center.



AMERICAN ACADEMY OF NURSING
July 2007

Researched potential major funders for this national association working to make nurses more efficient and effective.



CAMPS FOR KIDS
February 2006 – July 2007


Brought structure to and increased fundraising results for resident camp scholarships for low income Milwaukee children. Strategized and laid the groundwork for a short, targeted $2 million campaign to endow this program.



MILWAUKEE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
May 2003 – June 2005

Served as part-time member of the development department to create and manage a $15 million debt reduction campaign, solicit major gifts, and create a planned giving program.



TAMARACK COMMUNITY SCHOOL
February 2003 – December 2003

Wrote a case statement and grant proposals for this K-8 Milwaukee private school following the Waldorf educational method.


BEL CANTO CHORUS
September 2002 – April 2003

Led the Board in developing a well-rounded annual fundraising plan.


MILWAUKEE BALLET COMPANY
April 2002 – February 2003

Analyzed strengths and weaknesses of development department staff and activities, and developed a fundraising plan during a time of institutional transition. Advised and assisted with ongoing transitional fundraising activities.


VILLAGE OF SHOREWOOD

January 2001 – May 2002

Assessed strategies, support, and potential donors and volunteers in anticipation of a capital campaign. Organized, directed, and managed the successful $1 million Campaign for the Shorewood Library and Village Center, raising $1,050,000.


MILWAUKEE BAR ASSOCIATION FONDATION

October 2000 – April 2001

Researched and developed a plan to focus the foundation's impact in the community.


WALKERS POINT CENTER FOR THE ARTS

September 2000 – January 2001

Developed a plan and annual calendar for diversifying funding sources.


VILLAGE OF WHITEFISH BAY

July 2000 – March 2001

Planned and organized a $2 million capital campaign for the Whitefish Bay Public Library.
